Taasisi ya masheikh na wanazuoni wa Kiislamu Tanzania imeunga mkono

Shaaban Simba ya kuwataka waislamu na watanzania kote nchini
kushiriki kikamilifu katika Sensa ya watu na Makazi itakayofanyika
Agosti 26 mwaka huu.

Akizungumza na waandishi wa habari leo jijini Dar es Salaam kwa niaba
ya mwenyekiti wa jopo la masheikh na wanazuoni wa Kiislamu Tanzania
Sheikh Hamis Mattaka amesema hatua hiyo inafuatia kuwepo kwa baadhi ya
makundi yanayowahamasisha waumini wa dini ya kiislamu na wananchi
kutoshirika zoezi la Sensa ya watu na makazi.

Amesema wao kama jopo la wanazuoni hawaoni tatizo la zoezi hilo
kutokana na umuhimu wake kwa taifa na kuongeza kuwa Sensa ya watu na
makazi ipo kwa mujibu wa sheria za nchi na imepitishwa na Bunge la
Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania.

Jopo hilo limeiomba serikali kuweka sheria itakayozuia utoaji wa
takwimu zinazohusu dini za watanzania zinazotolewa na vyanzo
mbalimbali ndani na nje ya nchi kwa kuwa kipengele hicho si sehemu ya
sensa nchini.

"Tunajua kuwa serikali ilikua na nia njema kukiondoa kipengele cha
dini katika Sensa hapana budi nia njema hiyo ya serikali ilindwe kwa
kuweka sheria itakayozuia kutoa takwimu zinazohusu dini za watanzania"
amesema Sheikh Mattaka.

Amefafanua kuwa Sensa ya awali ya mwaka 1957 kipengele cha dini
kilihusishwa na baadaye kuondolewa katika Sensa zilizofuata kwenye
madodoso ya kukusanyia takwimu za kaya.

"Sisi kama jopo kila siku tunasema ili twende salama kama wananchi wa
nchi hii ni wajibu wetu kuheshimu na kufuata sheria kwa maana ya
kutii sheria bila shuruti, kwa hiyo tunasema Sensa ya watu na makazi
ni jambo la kisheria si jambo la mitaani, hatuwezi kulumbana na
kujadili jambo ambalo liko wazi kisheria na limepitishwa na wabunge
tuliowachagua sisi wenyewe"

Amefafanua kuwa zoezi la Sensa ya watu na makazi litaiwezesha serikali
kupanga mipango ya maendeleo kwa kuwa na takwimu sahihi za watu na
makazi, hali ya kipato cha kaya, vizazi na vifo na pia kuiwezesha
serikali kwapatia huduma bora wananchi wake.

Katika hatua nyingine jopo la masheikh na wanazuoni wa Kiislamu
Tanzania imewataka wananchi kushiriki kikamilifu katika mchakato wa
ukusanyaji wa maoni ya katiba.

Aidha jopo hilo limewataka watanzania wote kwa ujumla kuitumia fursa
hiyo muhimu kutoa maoni ambayo yataiwezesha nchi kupata katiba
itakayokidhi matakwa ya wananchi.

" Sisi kama jopo la wanazuoni wa kiislamu tunawataka waislamu na
watanzania wote kwa ujumla kuitumia fursa hii muhimu kwa kutoa maoni
yao ili hatimaye nchi yetu ipate katiba itakayokidhi matakwa ya
wananchi kwa miaka mingi ijayo" amesema Sheikh Mattaka.

[wanabidii] LETTER TO PRESIDENT JAKAYA KIKWETE ON RE-FLAGGING IRAN TANKERS

Dear President Kikwete,

I am writing to express my deep dismay that Tanzania has permitted the
National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC), to reflag at least 6 and as
many as 10 of its vessels under the Tanzanian ship registry, allowing
them to remain under NITC ownership and continuing to transport Iran's
crude oil exports. This action by your government has the effect of
assisting the Iranian regime in evading U.S. and EU sanctions and
generating additional revenues for its nuclear enrichment and weapons
research programs and its support for international terrorism.

It is profoundly disappointing to me to learn that your government has
acted in contravention of the broad international coalition that is
working together to use peaceful means, including economic sanctions,
to change the threatening behavior of the Iranian regime. The decision
to accept the re-flagging of NITC vessels casts a shadow over
Tanzania's international reputation.

I respectfully request that Tanzania cancel the re-flagging of the
NITC vessels. Given the close and cooperative relationship that our
two governments now enjoy, it would be unfortunate if this action were
permitted to stand.

It would be preferable that Tanzania take this action of its own
accord. However, your government should take note of President Obama's
Executive Order 13608, signed May 1, 2012, which provides for the
imposition of sanctions on any entity worldwide, including foreign
governments, that assists Iran in evading U.S. sanctions. In my view,
reflagging Iranian oil tankers falls within the scope of sanctionable
activity under that Executive Order. In addition, if Tanzania were to
allow Iranian vessels to remain under Tanzanian registry, we in the
Congress would have no choice but to consider whether to continue the
range of bi-lateral U.S. programs with Tanzania.

DES MOINES, Iowa — A watchdog group filed an ethics complaint Tuesday against Iowa Board of Regents member Bruce Rastetter, accusing him of abusing his position on the board overseeing public universities while pursuing a partnership between Iowa State University and his agribusiness corporation, AgriSol Energy.

Rastetter participated in discussions the university had about working with AgriSol to develop a huge commercial farming operation in Tanzania, a project critics have called a land grab.

"This looks pretty bad," said Ross Grooters, a Citizens for Community Improvement member from Pleasant Hill, in a statement. "Rastetter needs to go."

About 30 members of the Des Moines-based group delivered the complaint to the Iowa Ethics and Campaign Disclosure Board on Tuesday.

Rastetter's spokesman, Joe Murphy, said in a statement that an ethics review is welcome and he will cooperate fully.

"We are hopeful that this review will address any questions surrounding Bruce's commitment to public service here in Iowa and abroad," he said. "As we have stated before, there is no conflict of interest. Bruce has long been an advocate for education and agriculture and has a strong tradition of providing support and gifts to the Regent institutions."

Gov. Terry Branstad appointed Rastetter, an agribusiness executive who donated $160,000 to the governor's 2010 campaign, to the board in February 2011. Rastetter had been working on behalf of AgriSol with ISU since 2009 on a plan to develop 800,000 acres of Tanzanian farmland for crop production.

Branstad spokesman Tim Albrecht responded to a request for comment on the allegations by email.

"We are fully confident in the judgment of Regent Rastetter on his decision regarding when to recuse himself," he wrote.

Critics opposed the Tanzania project because the land had for decades housed 160,000 refugees from Burundi who were being relocated by the Tanzanian government. Investors, who stood to earn millions if the project was successful, argued it would help residents by improving food production and farming techniques. They added they had no role in the relocation.

Officials with ISU's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, which received a $1.75 million gift from Rastetter in 2007, were to implement an AgriSol-funded program providing a range of services and training to help farmers in the area.

Rastetter waited until June 17, 2011 — six weeks after his term started and four months after his appointment — to disclose the conflict, doing so only after the project received publicity. He waited until Sept. 13 before recusing himself from discussions related to ISU's involvement. That was the same day the university abandoned plans to seek a multimillion-dollar federal grant with AgriSol.

CCI, in its complaint, claims Rastetter falsified financial disclosure statements to the state's ethics board by omitting information about his wealth and job responsibilities with AgriSol and other companies he manages.

The group says he violated the state's executive branch ethics law and a separate section of the state code that makes it illegal to falsify disclosure statements.

It also says he violated the regents' conflict of interest policy, which says "Regents and institutional officials must endeavor to remain free from the influence of, or appearance of, any conflicting interest in acting on behalf of the Board or a Regent institution. Such interest may include, but are not limited to, employment, ownership of, or service on, the board of directors of an organization that has or may have relationships with the Board or a Regent institution."

CCI said it wants Rastetter to resign from the board or, if he refuses, Branstad to remove him.

Ethics board Executive Director Megan Tooker said a decision will be made first about whether the complaint contains sufficient legal grounds to launch an investigation.

If so, the board orders an investigation.More serious violations may lead to a contested hearing, which is similar to a trial with witnesses, testimony and evidence. If the board eventually determines a violation occurred, it can issue fines.

It cannot remove an executive branch appointee from office. It can only recommend the appointing authority — in this case the governor — remove the violator.

WASHINGTON | Fri Jun 29, 2012 1:39pm EDT (Reuters) - Tanzania must stop the practice of "re-flagging" Iranian oil tankers or it will face the threat of U.S. sanctions and damage its ties with Washington, a U.S. lawmaker warned on Friday.

Howard Berman, the ranking member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, accused Tanzania of reflagging at least six and possibly as many at 10 tankers owned by the National Iranian Tanker Company.

"This action by your government has the effect of assisting the Iranian regime in evading U.S. and EU sanctions and generating additional revenues for its nuclear enrichment and weapons research program and its support for international terrorism,"

Berman said in a letter to President Jakaya Kikwete that was obtained by Reuters. Berman said if the tankers were allowed to continue sailing under the Tanzanian flag, Tanzania could face the sanctions that President Barack Obama signed into law.

He said Congress would also have "no choice" but to consider whether to continue the range of bilateral U.S. programs with Tanzania.Officials at Tanzania's embassy were not immediately available to comment on Berman's letter.

The sanctions, along with similar action by the European Union, are aimed at pressuring Iran to curb its nuclear program, which the West believes aims to develop nuclear weapons but which Tehran says is for peaceful purposes. The United States gave China a six-month reprieve from Iran financial sanctions on Thursday. The Obama administration has now spared all 20 of Iran's major oil buyers from its unilateral sanctions, rewarding them for cutting purchases of Iranian oil.

NAIROBI (Reuters) - The U.S. ambassador to Kenya has resigned just over a year after taking up the post, citing differences with Washington over priorities and his style of leadership, an embassy statement said on Friday.

Scott Gration's departure came a week after the U.S. embassy warned of a threat of an imminent militant attack in the port city of Mombasa, angering the Kenyan government which said the advisory amounted to "economic sabotage".

"Differences with Washington regarding my leadership style and certain priorities lead me to believe that it's now time to leave," Gration said in his resignation statement.

A senior official in Kenya's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the announcement was a surprise.

Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi said Gration, who had been with the U.S. State Department for three years, had often been too hasty in "pulling out his guns".

"I think the ambassador had been a little gung-ho in his approach," Ngunyi said, giving the example of the Mombasa warning.

On Sunday, two days after the U.S. warning and a day after a grenade attack in tourism hub Mombasa, Kenya's Secretary to the Cabinet, Francis Kimemia, said the embassy had reneged on an agreement not to issue the alert.

There has been a surge in attacks on Kenyan soil blamed on Somali militants and their sympathisers since Kenya sent troops into Somalia in October last year.

Increasing insecurity has hurt the country's tourism industry and threatens to dampen economic growth this year in the region's biggest economy.

Jumla ya GRT ni 1,388,368 tons

Meli hizi ni 11 kama zinavyoonekana katika orodha hapo juu ni miongoni
mwa meli nyingi zinazobadilisha usajili wao (De registration). Meli
zilizosajiliwa na ZMA zinatoka nchini Cyprus na Malta. Sambamaba na
meli hizi 11 zilizosajiliwa na ZMA, meli za mafuta nyengine 20 ambazo
zinasemekana zilikuwa kwenye usajili wa nchi za Ulaya zimebadilisha
usajili wao na kwenda usajili wa "TUVALU Islands".

ZMA ilimtaka Wakala wake Philtex Corporation kuwaita wenye meli hizi
na kuwataka kujieleza kuhusu uhusuiano wao na Serikali ya au makampuni
ya mafuta ya IRAN. Philtex ilikutana na Wamiliki hao siku ya Alkhamis
tarehe 28/06/2012 katika afisi za Philtex Corporation na Wamiliki hao
wameeleza kwamba hawana uhusianao na Serikali au mamlaka yoyote nchini
Iran na wameamua kuja kusajili meli ZMA kwa ridhaa yao na kwa kufata
matangazo ya usajili wetu wa nje (Open Registry).

Pamoja na maelezo hayo, wamiliki hao wametangaza kwamba ikiwa ZMA
haiko tayari kuendelea na usajili wa meli zao, wanaweza kufuta usajili
wao na tayari wanafikiria kufanya mazungumzo na open Registry nyengine
(PANAMA) lakini hawana nia ya kurudi walikotoka, yaani Cyprus na
Malta.

Kinyume na maelezo yaliyotolewa na vyombo vya habari juu ya uraia wa
wamiliki wa meli hizi, Wamiliki wa meli hizi kama walivyojieleza
katika usajili wa meli zao wana uraia wa British Vergin Islands na
Sychelles.

Kulingana na "United Nations Convention Law of the Sea", Article 91,
na za "Geneva convection of Registration" articles 6, 7 na 8, na
kulingana na Zanzibar Maritime Transport Act of 2006, section 8,
Zanzibar ikiwa ni nchi moja kati ya nchi mbili zinazounda Jamhuri ya
Muungano wa Tanzania inayo haki ya kusajili meli yeyote kulingana na
taratibu na Sheria za Zanzibar, na sheria za Kimataifa zinazoongoza
usajili huo.

Maelezo haya yanatolewa ili kutoa usahihi wa uvumi kuwa Zanzibar
imesajili meli za IRAN ambazo zimewekewa vikwazo na Marekani na nchi
za Umoja wa Ulaya (European Union) juu ya usafirishaji na uuzaji wa
mafuta kutoka Iran.

Mhe. Spika, taarifa hizi za vyombo vya habari hazina madhumuni yeyote
zaidi ya kuwavunja moyo wenye Makampuni ya meli wanaotaka kusajili
meli zao kwetu.

Hivyo basi Serikali inatamka wazi kwamba Usajili uliofanywa kwa meli
hizi umefuata taratibu zote zilizowekwa kisheria na kwamba Serikali
imekuwa ikifanya na itaendelea kufanya mazungumzo na wenye meli
mbalimbali ili kuongeza idadi na ukubwa wa meli inazosajili nje ya
nchi. Biashara hii ya ukubwa wa GRT 1,388,368 Tons katika kipindi cha
wiki mbili na maombi mapya matano kwa meli zitakazokuwa na ukubwa wa
zaidi ya GRT 500,000 imeshtua Makamuni mengine na hata nchi nyengine
zisizoitakia mema Zanzibar katika juhudi zake za kukuza mapato na
uchumi wake.

Hata hivyo mamlaka itafata sheria zote zilizowekwa kitaifa na
kimataifa katika biashara ya usafiri baharini na itahakikisha meli
zinasajiliwa chini ya mamlaka hii zinafata taratibu ilizoweka.

Mhe. Spika, kabla ya taarifa hizi za vyombo vya habari (The Citizen),
Waziri wa Uchukuzi wa SMT Mhe. Harisson Mwakyembe) alipokuwa akijibu
suala Bungeni hivi juzi hakuonyesha kurishika kwake katika usajili wa
meli (Open Registry) inayofanywa na Zanzibar na kuahidi kufanya ziara
ya kuja Zanzibar kuonana na Waziri anaehusika kuzungumzia suala hili.
Taarifa za "The Citizen" zaweza kuwa ni muendelezo wa Mhe. Mwakyembe
kutoridhika kwake katika usajili unaofanywa na Serikali kupitia
uwakala wake huko Dubai.

Mhe. Spika, Zanzibar haifungiki kusajili meli za nchi yeyote.

Hili ni suala la kibiashara na kwamba kwa Serikali yetu ni njia moja
ya kuongeza mapato yanayoendesha Serikali, alimradi tu usajili huo
hauvunji sheria za Kimataifa.

Mhe. Spika,

Zanzibar ina uhusiano mkubwa na wa muda mrefu na nchi nyingi ikiwemo
IRAN na hivi karibuni Zanzibar ilipata ugeni (Makamo wa Rais wa Iran)
na viongozi wetu walifanya mazungumzo ya namna gani IRAN itaendelea
kusaidia Zanzibar katika miradi ya Maendeleo. Zanzibar haingependa
kuingizwa kwa visingizio vyovyote na kwa njama zozote katika migogoro
isiyowahusu.

Hivyo, kwa taarifa hii, Serikali inakanusha rasmi uvumi wa vyombo vya
habari kuhusiana na suala hili kama taarifa hii ilivyofafanua hapo
juu.

Court nullifies Kibaki's list of County bosses

Lady Justice Mumbi Ngugi nullified the appointments of 47 County Commissioners saying they were unconstitutional June 29, 2012. PAUL WAWERU

The High Court has overturned the appointment of 47 County Commissioners.

Lady Justice Mumbi Ngugi ruled Friday that President Kibaki flouted provisions of the Constitution by creating non existent positions of County Commissioners and appointing people to fill them in disregard of the Constitution.

In her judgement, the judge ruled that the President violated the provision on gender balance and those that required him to consult with Prime Minister Raila Odinga in line with the National Accord and Reconciliation Act.

Lady Justice Ngugi held that the President did not have any powers to appoint the Commissioners but even if he did, he ought to have consulted the PM.

The judgement was delivered on a petition that was filed by lobby groups challenging the appointments.

The Centre for Rights Education and Awareness (CREAW), on the one hand, and Patrick Njuguna and Charles Omanga on the other hand had filed the petitions, which were later consolidated.

Non existent positions

Their lawyer, Anthony Oluoch, speaking shortly after the verdict praised the decision terming it as "a landmark".

"At long last, the people of Kenya have been vindicated in their clamour for respect of the Constitution," he told reporters.

"You cannot make appointments to positions that are non existent. The appointments would have put but the County Commissioners in conflict with the governors."

The Executive Director of CREAW Wangechi Wachira also lauded the verdict.

"We are very excited. On any other position that is going to be created, gender balance is going to be adhered to," she said.

The petitioners had faulted the appointments citing the requirement of the Constitution including gender balance, consultation with the PM and the National Values and principals of governance.

Kitu kilichogunduliwa baada ya uchunguzi mwingi ni kwamba wapenzi
wengi wanaaminiana sana haswa wanawake kuamini sana wapenzi wao wa
kiume kiasi kwamba atampa password za email yake , kadi yake ya benki
na hata siri za kazini kwake kisa anaogopa kuachwa .

Tukumbuke kwamba password au neno la siri ni mali ya mtu binafsi na ni
yako wewe mwenyewe , ukienda benki ukapewa password au neno la siri
kwa ajili ya kadi yako ya benki ni wewe umeingia mkataba na benki sio
mpenzi wako , mdogo wako au mumeo au jirani yako .
Sikatazi watu kupeana namba za siri manake kupeana muda mwingine
unajenga kuaminiana zaidi , kupendana zaidi na hata kuweza kusaidiana
katika mikasa ya hapa na pale endapo mtu ana hizo namba za siri huu
ndio uzuri wa kupeana namba za siri .

Ubaya wake ni mwingi na unaweza kuwa mchungu zaidi katika maisha yako
yote , kwa mfano mtu akakuta picha zako au nyaraka nyingine za siri
kwenye email zako akaamua kuzihifadhi sehemu nyingine kwa kuzichukuwa
baadaye ukaona picha hizo kwenye magazeti , blogu na sehemu nyingine
za kijamii , kwa nyaraka au namba za siri za benki mtu anaweza
kuchukuwa na yeye mwenyewe akaenda kukuibia hela au anaweza kumtumia
mtu mwingine ndani ya benki au nje kwa ajili ya kuhamisha fedha haswa
kiasi kikubwa cha fedha na usimwone tena pengine haswa kama mmeokotana
njiani .

Kama wewe ni muajiriwa na ukampa mpenzi wako password ya anuani pepe

Dear friends Leo nimeona ni vyema nika-share nanyi kisa hiki cha kutekwa
mfanyakazi mwenzetu ambaye ni cashier siku ya jumatano jioni wiki
iliyopita. Ni kama movie lakini ni ukweli, cashier wetu aliomba ruhusa
siku hiyo ya tukio aende kwenye mkutano wa wasabato uliokuwa uliendelea
viwanja vya biafra. Yeye pia ni msabato aliyeishika dini ya Sabato haswa, kwa
hiyo aliondoka saa kumi kamili badala ya saa kumi na moja.

Baada ya dakika 40 tulianza kupokea sms zinazosema mwenye namba xxx amepata ajali na kufa
papo hapo na kwa taarifa zaidi twende muhimbili hospital. Baada ya
kutazama hiyo namba xxx ilikuwa ni ya cashier wetu. Tulijaribu kuipiga
iliita tu bila kupokelewa, na pia tulipiga namba iliyotutumia sms iliita
bila majibu. Ilipofika saa kumi na moja tuliamua kuelekea muhimbili, ma
baada ya kufika pale emergence tukaambiwa tuelekee chumba cha kuhifadhia
maiti. Tulioneshwa mwili wa mtu aliyepata ajali lakini haukuwa wa cashier
wetu, tukawatuma wenzetu waende hospitali zote lakini hapakuwa na taarifa
zake.

Baada ya kuzunguka bila mafanikio tulitoa taarifa makao makuu ya
usalama barabarani na baada ya dk kumi wakatwambia kuwa hakuna taarifa za
ajali mbaya iliyotokea jioni hiyo. Hatua iliyofuata ilikuwa ni kutoa
taarifa polisi juu ya tulio hilo na ndipo waliposema kwa kuwa ni mtu mzima tusubiri hadi siku inayofuata.
Wakati huo huo ndugu zake pamoja na wafanyakazi wenzetu walikuwa pamoja
wakiendelea na jitihada za kumtafuta hadi saa sita usiku.

Kilichokuwa kinatia wasiwasi zaidi ile namba iliendelea kutumia sms namba takribani
zote zilizokuwa kwenye phonebook yake na ndugu zake hawakuwahi kuona
ndugu yao akichelewa kiasi hicho.

Ilipotimu mida kama ya saa sita na nusu walisikia mtu akigonga mlango, alikuwa kaumizwa na amejaa matope, hakuwa
na uwezo wa kuzungumza sana, ilibidi wampeleke kituo cha polisi na baada
ya muda hospitali ya mwananyamala. Alipopata nguvu alianza kuwasimulia
nduguze kilichotokea. Alipotoka ofisini alikwenda moja kwa moja kwenye
kituo cha daladala cha karakana, pale kituoni walikuwa abiria wawili
yaani yeye na mama mmoja. Baada ya dk chache ilikuja coaster iliyoandikwa
mbele Kawe na ilikuwa na tinted nyeusi, yule mama hakupanda sababu
alikuwa anaelekea posta ila yeye alipanda. Ndani ya gari kulikuwa na watu watatu pamoja na dereva, wawili
wakiwa wamekaa nyuma na mmoja akiwa amekaa karibu na driver. Gari hiyo
hiyo ilikuwa ni mpya, mmoja wa abiria alimumba simu cashier apige simu
moja kwa jamaa yake maana alidai kuwa simu yake illiishiwa charge na
walikuwa wametoka mtwara kupeleka maiti, alimuuliza cashier umri wake na
kama ameoa na anafanya kazi wapi, cashier akamjibu hajaoa na hana kazi
pia ana miaka 32.

Walipofika Tazara hawakutaka kupakia abiria yoyote na
walikuwa wote wamevaa miwani myeusi, na ndipo akaanza kuingiwa na mashaka
akaomba ashuke, wao wakamwambia watapita biafra na hawana mpango wa
kusanya kwa kuwa hata yeye walimpa lifti tu.

Gari ilipokaribia taa za buguruni akainuka ili ashuke, jamaa wale wa nyuma wakamkalisha chini kwa
nguvu, na sio kwenye viti yaani chini kabisa. Mmoja wao akafunga kitambaa
cheusi kwenye macho na mikono ikafungwa kwa nyuma na mipira, baada ya
muda akasikia kama wamempulizia perfume. Akihisi fahamu kumtoka polepole na neno lamwisho analokumbuka
alisikia kuwa waelekee misitu ya Kibaha wakamalize kazi. Kilichomwamsha

For the first time in the history of Egypt, a democratically elected president is in charge. That is none other than Dr Muhammad Morsi Isa al-Ayyat, an engineer, academic, politician, and a respected member of a long-time conservative religious movement, the Muslim Brotherhood.
Dr Morsi, 60, a former engineering professor at Zagazig University whose faculty he joined in 1985, has so far proved to be the smart guy that Egypt needs. The way he ran his presidential campaign, his approach in crafting his domestic and foreign policies, and his well-calculated move to grab power from the military without angering them, brings optimism that Egypt is on the right track.
So far Egypt hasn't really proved that a classic revolution has already taken place, but with Dr Morsi in the driving seat hope is emerging that eventually Egyptians may call the whole circus that started February last year a true revolution. Why? It is because the military, which is the most powerful institution in the Egyptian polity, is still in control.
After a June 24 announcement by the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces that he had won the election by 51.7 per cent against former Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq's 48.3 per cent in the run-off, Dr Morsi didn't threaten anyone inside or outside Egypt, and by June 27 he was already talking to religious leaders.
Not many people may know this, but apart from being a powerful Muslim nation and a leader in Arab socio-cultural affairs such as the movie industry, music, education, and the likes, Egypt is also the headquarters of the world Coptic Church with a pope sitting in Cairo, officially known as the Archbishop of Alexandria. This makes religious leaders in the secular state of Egypt an important factor in the stabilization project considering the fact that of recently things have not been so calm between Egyptians of different faiths. The president-elect has also met the families of the martyrs who died during the 2011 revolution that ousted despot Hosni Mubarak.
Dr Morsi is now faced with a tough reality which saw the military council disbanding the Islamist-dominated parliament following a court order issued earlier this month. That order allowed the military to assume legislative powers, even forming a national security council headed by the president, but dominated by army generals.
Furthermore, should the court decide to disband the constituent assembly elected by the parliament, the military will exercise its powers to appoint a new one. The court is expected to announce its ruling on September 1. However, the Muslim Brotherhood has already made it clear that the military cannot appoint a constituent assembly at this crucial time when the new Egypt is going through democratization.
But the president-elect is happy to have received a court decision, practically a blow to the military council, which suspends military powers to arrest civilians. Should the judiciary prove to the Egyptians that it can work independently, then Dr Morsi will have an easy way at least when it comes to legal matters.
Amidst all these challenges, Dr Morsi's policy adviser, Ahmed Deif, this week told CNN that the president-elect will pick a woman and a Christian as his two vice presidents. This step will be another proof that he is the president of all Egyptians.
As he promised, Dr Morsi assured Egyptians of his loyalty to the country by quitting his position as the Chairman of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) immediately upon winning his presidential election. FJP was formed by the Muslim Brotherhood in 2011to make sure that one of their own becomes the first civilian president of Egypt.
Dr Morsi, who served as an independent member of parliament between 2000 and 2005, is an Egyptian and American-trained engineer who received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in engineering from Cairo University in 1975 and 1978 respectively. He then received an engineering doctoral degree from the University of Southern California in 1982, where he also taught until 1985.
Dr Morsi has so far promised to respect all international agreements, which include the 1979 peace accord between Israel and Egypt, but there is no automatic assurance that he will continue to help Americans in their cold-war against Iran and the much-talked-about war on terror. That so far is a headache for the Americans.
The Egyptian military wants to maintain control of at least three key ministries, that is, interior, justice and defense, and this not mentioning the national security council and the whole process of remaking the constitutional assembly.
It remains to be seen what Dr Morsi will do to change Egypt. In any case, this is a new Egypt and we hope that the Western powers will respect the will of the Egyptian people who elected the man known for saying "Islam is the solution," presumably to the problems facing Egyptians.

BODI ya Hospitali ya Rufaa ya Mkoa wa Mbeya, imewasimamisha kazi
madaktari 72 kwa kosa la kutoingia kazini kwa siku tano jambo ambalo
ni kinyume cha makubaliano ya mkataba.
Imeelezwa kuwa madaktari hao ambao 54 ni wale wa mafunzo ambao
waliingia mkataba wa miaka miwili na hospitali ya Rufaa na madaktari
18 ni wale walioajiriwa na Wizara ya afya.
Akizungumza na waandishi wa habari, Mwenyekiti wa Bodi Kaimu Mkuu wa
Mkoa wa Mbeya Norman Sigara, alisema kitendo cha madaktari kutoripoti
kazini kwa siku tano ni ukiukwaji wa kanuni za utumisha wa umma toleo
la 2009 kifungu namba F.16-F17 na F. 27.
"Hivyo kupitia kanuni hiyo madaktari hao wamesimamishwa kazi na
kurudishwa kwa mwajiri wao ambaye ni Katibu Mkuu Wizara ya Afya na
Ustawi wa Jamii kwa hatua zaidi za kinidhamu,"alisema Sigara.
Kwa mujibu wa Mwenyekiti huyo wa Bodi, imeelezwa kuwa siku ya tarehe
23/6/2012 wafanyakazi 15 waliokuwa zamu(Intern Doctors 12 na
Registrars3) hawakufika kazini na tarehe 24/6/2012 wafanyakazi
19(Intern doctors 15 na Registrars 4) hawakufika kazini.
Alisema, kuanzia tarehe 25/6/2012 hadi leo imethibitika kuwa Interns
doctor 54 na Registrars 18 hawakufika kazini hadi leo tarehe 28/6/2012
ambapo tarehe 25/6/2012 bodi ya hospitali ilifanya kikao cha dharura
kujadili hali ya utendaji kazi na utoaji huduma hospitalini na kutoa
uamuzi.
Sigara, aliyataja maamuzi hayo kuwa ni Mwenyekiti wa Bodi akutane na
madaktari ambao hawakufika kazini ili awasikilize sababu za kutofika
na kujadili namna ya kumaliza matatizo hayo jambo ambalo madaktari hao
waligoma.
Alisema, baada ya madaktari hao kukaidi ombi hilo, Bodi ya hospitali
ili waandikia barua za kujieleza kwanini wasichukuliwe hatua za
kinidhamu kwa kuvunja mkataba walioingia na hospitali na pia kukiuka
kanuni za kudumu za utumishi wa umma nalo walilikaidi

"Iwapo madaktari ambao hawakuripoti au kueleza sababu za kuridhisha
ifikapo tarehe 28/6/2012. Kwa kuzingatia kanuni za utumishi wa Umma,
madaktari hao watasimamishwa kazi na kurudishwa kwa mwajiri wao ambaye
ni Katibu Mkuu Wizara ya Afya na Ustawi wa Jamii,"alisema.
Aidha, alisema kuwa kwa ujumala madaktari hao waligomea barua zote
mbili yaani ya kuitwa kwenye kikao pamoja na ile ya kuwataka kujieleza
hivyo Bodi imechukua hatua za kisheria za kuwafukuza kazi.
Hata hivyo Mwenyekiti huyo wa bodi, alisema kuwa tayari hospitali ya
Rufaa kwa ushirikiano wa Mkurugenzi wa Jiji la Mbeya, madaktari watano
wamepatikana ili kusaidia huduma kwa hospitali hiyo.

Any ideas on where we could get the data would be highly appreciated?

In the absence of concrete data, even a lead as to who are the major
