Colleagues,
I have been made to understand something I have ,and probably, a good number of us, have taken, for so long, for granted.
The word BOMA is not a Kiswahili word by origin as we have been thinking. It is an abbreviation of a section of the British administration for resettling British soldiers. The words stand for British Overseas Military Administration.(B.O.M.A).
This office headed by a military officer, was situate close to the office of the DC, hence BOMANI.
